Etro was founded in 1968 by Italian designer Gimmo Etro. Originally a textile firm, by the late 1980s, the company had expanded its reach by introducing accessories, luggage, fragrances, and home décor. The menswear collection debuted in 1990 and six years later, Etro presented its first womes ready-to-wear show in Milan under the direction of Gimmo's son Kean.
