No garment is more quintessentially American than the blue jean invented in 1873 by Levi Strauss. And no brand is more quintessentially American than Levi Strauss & Co., founded two decades prior in San Francisco. Still owned by members of Strauss' family, Levi's is as celebrated today for its denim range as it was in the nineteenth century. And since 1996, the iconic brand has been recreating the fits, fabrics, and characteristics of historic garments from its archives through the line, Levi's Vintage Clothing.
